We are celebrating 30 years of coffee here at Byron Bay Coffee Company. We are so excited about reaching this milestone ~ so we went through some old boxes of photos to share some of this incredible journey with you!

This photo shows the very young coffee trees and an even younger Annie and Franco ~ with their daughters and friends on their property in Newrybar in 1991. Our trees went into the ground in 1990.

Nonno Francesco Ivancich with the coffee trees while they are bearing fruit. The trees are about four years old here.

Once we started supplying cafe’s in the mid 90’s it was time for a bigger roaster and for the team to grow. Bertrand Pommier comes from three generations of coffee roasters in Dieppe, France. He began roasting in 2003 and was with us until 2008. This allowed Franco to focus on our blends. We have a qualified roaster working with BBCC at all times.

We now have the state of the art computerised IMF Roaster made in Italy. Franco is always keeping up to date with new roasting profiles and temperature settings.
We are just as excited about the coffee industry today as we were when we started. Our level of appreciation and love of the industry continues to grow and we look forward to the next thirty years.
